OAS Trains SMEs in Quito on Implemention of Corporate Social Responsibility

The Organization of American States (OAS) will hold, beginning tomorrow March 18 to Tuesday March 19 an interactive workshop titled "Awareness to action: How to Implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)" in Quito, Ecuador, to train more than 40 companies from various sectors through drills and practice in the development of CSR in their business models.

The workshop, to be conducted by officials of the Department of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism of the OAS, will be attended by the Executive Secretary for Integral Development of the OAS, Sherry Tross, the Canadian Ambassador to Ecuador, Pamela O 'Donnell, the President of the Ecuadorian Consortium for Social Responsibility (CERES), Augusta Bustamante, and the President of Pacto Global Ecuador, Christian J. Bakker.

The initiative is part of the program for the "Promotion of Social Responsibility in Small and Medium Enterprises in Latin America and the Caribbean" of the OAS and is supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), and the Ecuadorian Consortium for Social Responsibility (CERES) and Pacto Global Ecuador.
