PRESS REQUIREMENTS FOR TUESDAY’S LAUNCH OF THE INTER-AMERICAN SOCIAL PROTECTION NETWORK IN NEW YORK

The Organization of American States (OAS) has convened a high-level meeting to launch a new partnership to fight poverty in the Americas. Expected to attend are OAS Secretary General, José Miguel Insulza, as well as US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton; President of Chile, Michele Bachelet; President of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe; and New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, among other high-level officials.

WHAT: Launch of the Inter-American Social Protection Network

WHEN: Tuesday, September 22 (Inauguration is at 8 a.m. EDT)

WHERE: Westin Hotel, New York Times Square

The press logistics for the opening session are as follows:

All cameras must be pre-set by 6:00 a.m.
Final access time for all press is 7:00 a.m.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or
(3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport). Press should allow adequate time to process through security.
