Press Conference: Secretary General to Receive Report on Crimes against Humanity in Venezuela

The Organization of American States (OAS) will host a press conference on a new report from the Casla Institute on the commission of crimes against humanity in Venezuela this Wednesday, March 20 at 14:30 EDT (18:30 GMT) at the headquarters of the Organization in Washington, DC.

During the press conference, the Executive Director of the Casla Institute, Tamara Suju, will present a report to the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, and a witness, a former official of the Venezuelan General Directorate of Military Counter-Intelligence (DGCIM) who defected, will explain how Cuban intelligence officers train Venezuelan intelligence officers, and how torture is carried-out in DGCIM prisons.

Representatives of the media who wish to cover the meeting are asked to send their name and that of the media they represent to [email protected]. The day of the event, journalists must show a credential of the media they represent and a personal identification.
