OAS Secretary General meets with Colombian President

The President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos today received the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, on the day of his arrival in Cartagena to lead the activities of the Sixth Summit of the Americas, which will bring together the leaders of the hemisphere this weekend.

The conversation between the Colombian President and the chief representative of the OAS centered on the main issues that define the present political context in the region, and the organizational details of the event that will begin Saturday.

Also present at the meeting were the Foreign Minister of Colombia, María Ángela Holguín, the Chief of Staff of the Secretary General, Ambassador Hugo de Zela, and the Chief of the OAS Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia (MAPP-OAS), Marcelo Álvarez.
