OAS Secretary General Received Students from Georgetown University´s Global Competitiveness Leadership Program

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received a group of alumni from the Global Competitiveness Leadership Program of Georgetown University, with whom he discussed current politics and economics in the region, and the work of the institution he directs.

Under the title “Working for the benefit of the citizens of the Americas,” Secretary General Insulza presented to the young people a summary of the regional panorama in recent years in terms of the strengthening of democratic institutions, economic growth, combating inequality, security and other issues of the daily work of the institution. At the end of his presentation, the students asked questions of the Secretary General and thanked him for the opportunity to learn about the work of the OAS.

The Global Competitiveness Leadership Program of Georgetown University is dedicated to promoting a new generation of socially responsible, innovative and ethical leaders in the region.
