Authorities from the OAS, the Government of Mexico and the Inter-American Conference on Social Security Conclude Workshop on Social Protection and Employment

Authorities from the Organization of American States (OAS), the Government of Mexico, and the Inter-American Conference on Social Security today concluded the intersectoral workshop on social protection and employment in Mexico City which brought together delegates from more than 21 countries of the Hemisphere and representatives of 11 international agencies such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) of the United Nations, and the World Bank, among others.
The three day workshop offered a space to learn about recent advances in the intersectoral approach among authorities in employment, development and social security of the region. In addition, it offered the opportunity to identify lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for the needed coordination between agencies and sectors In the building of integral systems of social protection.
The event is part of the efforts of the OAS to move forward with intersectoral dialogue and coordination through its areas of Employment and Social Protection and its respective networks of cooperation, the Inter-American Network for Labor Administration (RIAL) and the Inter-American Network for Social Protection (RIPSO).
