OAS Secretary General Met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Panama

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Panama, Luis Miguel Hincapie, at the headquarters of the hemispheric institution in Washington, DC.

Secretary General Insulza and Deputy Minister Hincapie talked about the preparations for the Seventh Summit of the Americas, to be held in Panama in April 2015, and which will debate issues at the regional and sub-regional levels.

The meeting included the Chief of Staff of the OAS Secretary General, Hugo de Zela; the OAS Secretary for External Relations and head of the Summit of the Americas Secretariat, Alfonso Quiñonez; and the Permanent Representative of Panama to the OAS, Jorge Miranda, who Chairs the Committee of the Inter-American Summits Management and Civil Society Participation in OAS Activities (CISC).
