OAS Secretary General Meets with the President of Paraguay

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the President of the Republic of Paraguay, Horacio Cartes, host of the forty-fourth regular session of the General Assembly of the hemispheric body.

At the meeting, held at the Carmelitas Convention Center in the Paraguayan capital, President Cartes and Secretary General Insulza went over the final details of the hemispheric conference, which begins tomorrow, June 3 , in Asunción, and will focus on the theme “Development with Social Inclusion.”

Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Eladio Loizaga; its Permanent Representative to the OAS, Elisa Ruiz Díaz; and the Assistant Secretary General of the OAS, Albert Ramdin. The President of Paraguay and the Secretary General of the OAS will deliver their speeches tomorrow at the Assembly's inaugural session.
