The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, today received a group of students from the Leadership and Competitiveness Program of the Latin American Department at Georgetown University, at the headquarters of the Hemispheric Organization in Washington, DC.

During the meeting, the head of the hemispheric institution spoke about the foundations of the Organization and its Democratic Charter. He also held a question and answer session with the students from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua , Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela and Spain.

The program at Georgetown University was created in 2006 in order to promote and strengthen ties with Latin America, Spain and Portugal through high-impact projects and initiatives.
