OAS Secretary General Meets with the Minister of Security of Honduras

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Minister of Security of Honduras, Arturo Corrales, at the headquarters of the hemispheric organization in Washington, DC.

The OAS Secretary General and the Honduran Security Minister talked about the Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas recently presented by the OAS; the agenda of the General Assembly of the hemispheric institution, to be held in Antigua, Guatemala from June 4 to 6; the Central American country's security situation, and security legislation that Minister Corrales wants to promote in his country.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of Secretary General Insulza, Hugo de Zela; the OAS Secretary for Multidimensional Security and member of the Committee on Public Security Reform in Honduras, Adam Blackwell; the Ambassador of Honduras to the OAS, Leonidas Rosa Bautista; and the Ambassador of Honduras to the United States, Jorge Ramón Hernández Alcerro.
