OAS Secretary General Meets with Director for Latin America at the World Economic Forum

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, met today with the Senior Director for Latin America at the World Economic Forum, Marisol Argueta, at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

Secretary General Insulza and Director Argueta discussed the next annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum on Latin America 2013, to be held in Lima in late April, and where the head of the OAS has been invited. In addition, the two covered major topics on the regional agenda, including the involvement of the private sector, civil society and the public sector in promoting entrepreneurship among youth and women, micro-credits for the most vulnerable sectors, the problem of drugs and security in the hemisphere.

The OAS Secretary General welcomed the invitation from the World Economic Forum, and expressed his readiness to participate in meetings specifically targeted to the region of Latin America and the Caribbean.
