Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.
Approximately six weeks after the end of each semester, the OAS publishes a Semiannual Management and Performance Report, which since 2013 includes reporting on programmatic results. The full texts may be found here.

The OAS has discussed for several years the real estate issue, the funding required for maintenance and repairs, as well as the deferred maintenance of its historic buildings. The General Secretariat has provided a series of options for funding it. The most recent document, reflecting the current status of the Strategy, is CP/CAAP-3211/13 rev. 4.

Señor Presidente:
Deseo agradecer a la Misión de México por solicitar la inclusión del aniversario Noventa y Seis de la fundación del Instituto Panamericano de Geografía e Historia, bajo el lema de “La ciencia al servicio de la paz, en la Agenda del Consejo Permanente Es más que oportuno además, porque también se cumplen los Setenta y Cinco años desde el momento en que se constituyó como el primer organismo científico especializado de nuestra Organización.
Saludamos en especial a don Antonio Campuzano Rosales, su Secretario General. Y no queremos dejar de mencionar que durante los actos de celebración el pasado 7 de febrero, en la sede de Instituto en Ciudad de México, se llevó a cabo un justo reconocimiento a la participación de la mujer en las actividades del Instituto desde su creación. En ese evento se resaltó a la Doctora Patricia Solís por el hecho de ser la primera mujer en ocupar el honroso cargo de Presidenta de la institución.
En la OEA sabemos bien del valor del Instituto. Por ejemplo, ha desarrollado un programa de especial relevancia relacionado con nuestro trabajo en la Zona de Adyacencia Belize-Guatemala, a través de la verificación de coordenadas.
El Instituto también ha prestado un muy importante servicio a la región mediante la coordinación y difusión de estudios en Cartografía, Geografía, Historia, Geofísica y otras áreas similares en el hemisferio.
A sus Noventa y Seis años, el Instituto cuenta con un amplio reconocimiento internacional, gracias a la actividad de sus destacados investigadores y especialistas en la realización de proyectos multinacionales y de gran alcance. Su desempeño brinda a los investigadores e instituciones científicas de sus Estados Miembros las herramientas idóneas para enfrentar con éxito algunos de los mayores problemas del continente, entre ellos:
• la prevención de los desastres naturales; • la conservación del medio ambiente; • la erradicación del hambre, • la protección de la salud • y la promoción de la cultura.
Es nuestro deseo que el Instituto mantenga su ímpetu para seguir cumpliendo a cabalidad con su misión y refrendar su espíritu de servicio ante la comunidad panamericana y el mundo, contribuyendo al desarrollo de las naciones de las Américas a través de la ciencia puesta al servicio de la paz.
