Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

Mario Alemán, who presented credentials today as Ecuador’s Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), has restated his government’s commitment to OAS initiatives designed to promote economic development, democracy, human rights and social justice for all the peoples of the Americas.
Delivering his credentials to Secretary General José Miguel Insulza during a brief ceremony, Ambassador Alemán remarked that “the peoples of the Americas follow the Organization’s work, and as such it should seek to meet their expectations.” The Ambassador underscored Ecuadorian President Alfredo Palacio’s interest in staying alongside the OAS to help it accomplish its objectives. He said the government in Ecuador would continue supporting the Organizations interests, “as a loyal and supportive partner.”
In receiving the new Ecuadorian envoy, Secretary General Insulza expressed the OAS’ firm support for the process launched by the government to rejuvenate democracy. Insulza said he believes this new era will bring Ecuadorians peace, equality, justice and renewed confidence in the democratic system.
Ambassador Mario Alemán holds a doctorate degree in jurisprudence. He has served in numerous posts in the Ecuadorian foreign service, and is a former Deputy Foreign Minister who has been Acting Foreign Minister on a number of occasions, besides being Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
