OAS ASSISTANT SECRETARY GENERAL TO PRESENT REPORT ON HAITI

The Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luigi Einaudi, will present a verbal report on the situation in Haiti tomorrow to the Organization's Permanent Council. Einaudi recently returned from a week-long visit to that country.

Also, during the session, which will be chaired by Ambassador Margarita Escobar of El Salvador, the chief of the OAS Electoral Observation Mission in Colombia, Santiago Murray, will present a preliminary verbal report on the May 26 presidential elections.

The Permanent Council will also welcome the new envoy from Honduras, Ambassador Salvador Rodezno Fuentes, and will bid farewell to outgoing Guatemalan Ambassador Ronalth Ochaeta.
