Following the assumed commitment to promote and facilitate the dialog between the countries about the three Hemispheric Projects in Education, the Unit for Social Development and Education has organized with the support of the World Bank Institute and the SEP through the Dirección General de Televisión Educativa, a cycle of three videoconferences that were done in July of 2003.

These videoconferences allowed a deeper analysis about the main challenges that are present in every one of the topics, from a hemispheric and sub-regional viewpoint. This open dialog between the ministers of education facilitated the discussion about the state of the education -diagnostic vision and analysis- in every sub-region, the challenges presented and the strategies to confront them.

The Equality and Quality was the theme of the first discussion that was done between the Ministers and the appropriate personnel from the Ministries of Education of Argentina, Colombia, México and Nicaragua. The discussion continued with the topic of Secondary Education, with the participation of Antigua & Barbuda, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica and Peru. The cycle was close with the videoconference about teachers’ training, were Bolivia, El Salvador, Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago participated.
