2nd PERIOD SESSION
WORKING GROUP OF THE PROTOCOL OF SAN SALVADOR
Washington, D.C., October 14-16 and November 13th, 2015

The Working Group of the Protocol of San Salvador (WGPSS) received the Permanent Missions of Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay in Washington DC on October 14-16, 2015. Meanwhile, a virtual meeting was held with representatives of the Plurinational State of Bolivia on November 13th. During these sessions, the Member States informed their progresses on social security, health, and education.

The reports were analyzed by the WGPSS, and strategies were discussed to facilitate the implementation of economic, social and cultural rights in the Americas. In addition, the WGPSS held meetings with senior officials of the OAS and presented advances and challenges to the Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs (CJPA) of the Permanent Council.

The States Parties Final Reports and the Final Conclusion Report will be published on the WGPSS website once the review process is completed. Subsequently, in June 2016, the second group of rights, including the right to work and unionize, right to adequate food, right to a healthy environment, and the right to the benefits of culture, will be discussed.
