Government
The
government of Paraguay is a Constitutional Republic, also serving as a
presidential representative democratic republic, wherein the President
of Paraguay is both the head of state and head of government. There are
three branches of government: the executive, legislative, and judicial.
Executive power is exercised by the president, on a pluriform,
multi-party system. Legislative is exercised through the two chambers of
the National Congress (senate and Chamber of Deputies), and the
judiciary is an independent branch from both the legislative and
executive.
