En junio de 2016, durante la elaboración de este informe y dos años después de haber sido elaborada, se aprueba la Estrategia Nacional para la lucha contra la Trata en Colombia en la cual se introduce específicamente el tema de generación de estrategias para la prevención de la trata en el marco del conflicto armado.

It provides a conceptual framework for understanding crime, violence, and prevention as part of broader citizen-security systems; evidencebased information about effective interventions to prevent crime and violence; and practical advice and tools on how to design, implement, measure, and evaluate crime and violence-prevention and citizensecurity projects. The guide incorporates the research findings of academic and development practitioners in an analysis of crime and violence in the region.

Effectiveness and Evaluation of Crime Prevention Programs in Minas Gerais

A mix of social policy and crime prevention programs is often proposed to keep crime rates low. Although the association between general social programs and specific programs to fight crime is unclear, this type of social intervention is commonly associated with a reduction in crime. This paper examines the causal link between social policy and crime prevention programs by evaluating previously adopted crime prevention programs in Minas Gerais.

Este estudio demuestra el potencial que tiene la utilización de datos locales sobre seguridad ciudadana para entender, con el máximo nivel de detalle, dónde se producen los delitos, y por ende, generar soluciones innovadoras que provienen de lo local y responden a lo local. El análisis realizado en este documento demuestra el gran potencial que tiene la información de buena calidad, pero también las limitaciones que todavía existen para contar con datos estadísticos sistematizados de registros administrativos de la policía, del ministerio público y de otras instituciones. El gran reto es demostrar este valor a quienes producen esta información, para trabajar con ellos con vistas a mejorarla.
