Final Report from the Second Meeting of Education Ministers

Heads of State from the Western Hemisphere entrusted the Organization of American States with the task of organizing a conference for ministers of education. The objectives of this meeting included identifying and establishing appropriate mechanisms to ensure the implementation of the educational initiatives contained in the Plan of Action of the III Summit of the Americas and continuing to promote measures to advance the priorities identified during the Summits of Santiago, Chile and Miami, USA. In September 2001, in Punta del Este Uruguay, the Second Meeting of Ministers took place within the framework of CIDI, in accordance with the mandate of the Third Summit of the Americas.
