Working Group to Strengthen CIDI and its organs

In response to the mandates contained in resolutions AG/RES. 2303 (XXXVII-O/07) and CIDI/RES. 192 (XII-O/07) “Strengthening Mechanisms for Policy Dialogue for Integral Development,” and AG/RES. 2305 (XXXVII O/07) and CIDI/RES. 194 (XII O/07), “Strengthening Substantive Policy Dialogue in the Framework of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development,” for the 2007-2009 period, CEPCIDI initiated a process of reflection and consultation with a view to strengthening CIDI and its subsidiary organs. As a result of the deliberations, and with a view to continuing this process, CEPCIDI installed this Working Group during its twenty-sixth special session held on March 10, 20108 with the mandate of “considering the various options for strengthening CIDI and its organs and improving their functioning”

The General Assembly and CIDI have extended the mandate of this Working Group on four occasions through resolutions AG/RES. 2469 (XXXIX-O-09) and CIDI/RES. 228 (XIV-O/09) "Strengthening Partnership for Development:  Policy Dialogue, Technical Cooperation, Structure and Mechanisms" and AG/RES. 2609 (XL-O/10) AG/RES. 2646 (XLI-O/11), CIDI/RES. 244 (XV-O/10), CIDI/RES. 258 (XVI-O/11) and CIDI/RES. 262 (XVII-O/12) "Extension of the Mandate of the CEPCIDI Working Group to Strengthen CIDI and its Organs"

With the entry into force of resolution AG/RES. 2739 (XLII-O/12) “Optimization of the Structure of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development,” which eliminates the Permanent Executive Committee of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CEPCIDI), the Working Group begins reporting directly to CIDI.  Accordingly, the classification of documents of the Working Group to Strengthen CIDI (GTFORCIDI) was adjusted to reflect that GTFORCIDI became an organ of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI). The new numbering picks up from the last document classified prior to the adoption of resolution AG/RES. 2739 (XLII-O/12).

On June 2017, CIDI deemed concluded the work of GTFORCIDI.
