On October 31st, 2012, the IACHR held hearings on Process for Strengthening the Inter-American System of Human Rights, during the 146th Períod of Sessions.
Hearing to Member States
The hearing to Member States of the Organization of American States (OAS) took place at the Simon Bolivar Room. After the opening remarks by the IACHR Chair, José de Jesús Orozco Henríquez, delegations from 22 Member States participated with remarks. Hearing to Civil Society
The hearing to Members of Civil Society took place at the Hall of the Americas and had 62 participants, among them, victims of human rights violations and their relatives; representatives of civil society organizations and persons in their individual capacity. Of the 62 participants, 55 were present and 7 sent videos. The complete list of persons who participated in this hearing is available here.
