            Threats

 

            34.       Investigative journalist Melvin Flores, of Honduran nationality, was forced to leave  after receiving several threats.  Floresreceived intimidating phone calls on February 7, 2003, after publishing information on alleged acts of corruption by Belizean public officials in the weekly Amandala.  That same day, two persons approached his wife to inform her that they wanted to have a private meeting with him.  Afterwards, the same persons were seen watching the house.[1]
