"Working with the Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression was an excellent experience for me as a journalist because I was able to understand the situation of journalists around America. Working for the rapporteur was my first experience in human rights. Understanding the laws and the way the Interamerican Commission works was very difficult for me, but it helped me to understand the complexity of the situations involved. I felt a little lost between all this laws and lawyers but it was surprising for me to realize that the law and the international community are the only resource some people have to save their lives. I believe that any journalist would have an excellent learning experience working there. It was a shame it lasted so short, because when I had to leave I was just starting to understand the whole issue"
