Responsible for Penitentiary and Prison Policies of the OAS Member
States dealt with the following topics:
1) Public-Private Cooperation
2) International Penitentiary Standards
3) Social Rehabilitation and Reinsertion
in a closed system
4) Alternatives to Imprisonment
This meeting gathered representatives of
the Ministries and Administrations Responsible for the Penitentiary and
Prison Systems in the OAS Member States; organisms of the Inter-American
System; Research Centers and organizations from the civil society.
