        Summary

One of the largest fjord areas of the world can be found in the coast of southern Chile. Despite its extreme geographic isolation, multiple scientific expeditions carried out in recent years have gathered information characterizing the marine biodiversity in the region. However, most of the gained knowledge is disaggregated which difficult the application of integral region-wide conservation and management plans. This proposal is aimed to compile physical and biological information of the marine coastal ecosystems at fjord region of Chile. This information will be associated to standard descriptors of classification of coastal marine ecosystems, and the generated databases will be integrated to a standard system (Darwin Core)
