The vast majority of young people in vulnerable situations belong to historically discriminated groups: indigenous peoples, Afro-descendants, LGBTI people, migrants or refugees, people with disabilities and rural youth, among others. The Department of Social Inclusion supports other areas of the OAS to reach those young people from groups in situations of vulnerability who have been left out or are at risk of being neglected, involve them and take advantage of their energy and talent so that they too can enjoy the same rights and opportunities as their peers, and can participate and be fully appreciated as contributing members of society.
Since 2015, the projects of the Department of Social Inclusion incorporate the perspective of groups in vulnerable situations.
