On hand to present the Course graduates with their diplomas during the closing ceremony were Ambassador João Clemente Baena Soares, Chairman of the CJI; Dr. Jean-Michel Arrighi, OAS Secretary for Legal Affairs; Dr. Arturo Valenzuela, Georgetown University professor; and Dr. Mariano Aznar, Jaume I University professor.

The course ran from August 5 through 23. During the three weeks, a total of 32 students, from various countries of the region, participated in the fortieth edition of this now traditional event to promote and disseminate information about international law.

The Course on International Law is organized in response to a mandate contained in the Inter-American Program for the Development of International Law, adopted by the OAS General Assembly. Its purpose is to promote and disseminate information about the legal aspects of the inter-American agenda and international law in general.
