On August 2, the Inter-American Juridical Committee (CJI)
inaugurated its 103rd regular session of at its headquarters in the city of Rio
de Janeiro.
The session will continue until August 11. During this session, the CJI will
address the study of the following topics included in its work program:

Guide on the law
applicable to foreign investments;
-
Development of
inter-American guidelines on the
participation of victims in criminal
proceedings against acts of corruption;
-
Approach to the new outer
space law;
-
New technologies and
their relevance to legal cooperation;
-
Corporate responsibility
of manufacturers and sellers of weapons in
the area of human rights;
-
Legal implications of the
sea level rise in the inter-American
regional context;
-
The exceptional use of
force in the inter-American context; and,
-
Particular customary
international law in the context of the
Americas.
In addition, during this
session, the CJI will hold the IX Joint Session
with the legal advisers of the foreign
ministries of the OAS member states, whose work
program can be consulted at the following link:

The Committee will also participate in the
Conference of the American Association of
Private International Law (ASADIP) and will hold
the 48th Annual Course on International Law.
The CJI serves as advisory body on juridical
matters to the OAS. Its main duty involves the
promotions of the progressive development and
codification of international law.
