USDE Caribbean Hazard Mitigation Projects

Natural Hazard Risk Management in the Caribbean

The OAS assisted the World Bank with the compilation of hazard mitigation good practices and assessment of actual practices, as measured against these good practices, in the following countries and territories: Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The results of these assessments were used to prepare  the document "Natural Hazard Risk Management in the Caribbean: Revisiting the Challenge", which was presented and discussed at the 2002 meeting of the Consultative Group for Caribbean Economic Development (CGCED), held in Washington in June 2002.
