Course of International Law (Brazil, 2010)

In August 2010, for the second time, the longstanding Course of International Law organized by the Inter-American Juridical Committee included lectures by an academic expert, in this case on racial discrimination and the rights of Afro-Descendants. This year the Course specifically addressed the issue of gender and race. With that in mind, the Department of International Law provided scholarships for four young Afro-Descendants in the Americas who have excelled in their work in organizations specializing in the subject to enable them to take part in the Course. They were selected following a competition among 32 candidates.
