The workshop, aimed at researchers in the life sciences area of Peru, aims to raise awareness and promote biosecurity measures in the laboratory, in addition to conducting risk analyzes in the laboratory and on research processes to determine their alleged dual use. These analyzes are necessary to mitigate the risks generated by the threats posed by the illicit use of materials and technologies, which could be used to develop biological weapons. The workshop - by invitation only - is organized by the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) of the OAS and is funded by the United States Department of State.
