This Meeting sought to further regional dialogue on critical issues of energy and climate change in the Western Hemisphere and continued the important momentum developed over the last two years under the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA). The one and a half day senior-level Meeting provided an opportunity to demonstrate regional progress and share the on-going collaborative efforts under ECPA initiatives, as well as served as a platform to identify country coordinators for the ECPA pillars to interface with the ECPA Information Clearinghouse through the Organization of American States (OAS). Other results from this Meeting included furthering the involvement of the private sector and civil society, and planning for the next Energy and Climate Ministerial to take place before the Sixth Summit of the Americas hosted by Colombia in April 2012.
