1.      Summary

The project purpose is to compile and systematize the available published information or in process of the coastal and marine ecosystems of Uruguay. First it‘ll be made an analysis of the different national classifications to identify those that can be implemented to the system of ECECM Classification as Standard Ecosystem Format inside the GEOSS structure and adopted by ETN.

The project has for purpose compile and systematize the available published information or in process of the coastal and marine ecosystems of Uruguay. There will be realized an analysis of the diverse national classifications to identify those that can be adapted to the system of Standard Classification of Ecosystems I marinade Woods nearest to the bark ECECM with classes, definitions and units inside the structure GEOSS as point of item(game) to develop the Classification IABIN's Marine Reference. The information coming from those complete and relevant classifications will be save in a Web data base (Web template) and will become available including digital maps and the information of support for its interpretation.

The work includes workshops of coordination and validation of elaborated information with the participation of a net of institutions. Quality determination of the geographical and thematic information will be support on the comparison with nominal information of the area or with more accuracy sources that allow identifying the inconsistencies and mistakes. The classifications will be available as cartography to the public in general.
