The project aims at
georeferencing all these collections plus the 20% that are still not
digitized. Georeferencing will be done by compiling information from
various gazzetiers of Panama including the one available at the National
Geographic Institute Tomy Guardia and the geographic-cartographic
information from ANAM. We expect to georeference a total of 17000
collections in one year including 7000 new specimens with biological
information digitized for the first time. At the end of he project
there will be 17000 new records to be served by IABIN. |
