▪ Seminar "Indigenous Peoples: confronting current challenges"

The General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS), through its Department of International Law, is pleased to inform that the Seminar “Indigenous Peoples: confronting current challenges” will be held on April 17 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, at the OAS headquarter in Washington D.C. (Hall of the Americas, 17th Street and Constitution Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006).

The activity is part of the "Program of Action of the Department of International Law of the OAS on Indigenous Peoples in the Americas" and aims to transmit knowledge about recent public policies, good practices and affirmative actions on the rights of indigenous peoples.

Representatives of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the Secretariat of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and the World Intellectual Property Organization –WIPO will participate as speakers. In addition, there will be indigenous representatives from the Americas and experts from the Member States of the OAS.
