XXXVII Course on International Law
The Department of International Law is organizing
the XXXVII Course on International Law, which will
be offered August 2-20, 2010, in the city of Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil. This year the main topic of the
course will be “International Law and Contemporary
Global Transformation.”
The course is part of the Inter-American Program
for the Development of International Law, and is one
of the department’s longest-standing and most
important activities for the promotion and
dissemination of international law.
For three weeks, a group of approximately 36
young students from various countries in the region
will gather in Rio de Janeiro to study current
issues in international law. The faculty will be
distinguished international law professors from
various countries in the Americas and Europe.
For this event the OAS has granted 24 scholarships
to students, and the Department of International Law
has granted four additional scholarships for young
Afro-descendants in the region, with financial
support from CIDA-Canada.
