PLACE AND DATE OF THE FIFTH MEETING OF MINISTERS RESPONSIBLE FOR
PUBLIC SECURITY IN THE AMERICAS (MISPA-V) AND OF THE SECOND MEETING OF THE SUBSIDIARY TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP ON POLICE MANAGEMENT, BOTH MEETINGS CONVENED BY RESOLUTION AG/RES. 2866 (XLIV-O/14)

THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,

RECALLING the Commitment to Public Security in the Americas, adopted at the First Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas, held in Mexico in October 2008; the Consensus of Santo Domingo on Public Security, adopted at the Second Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas, held in the Dominican Republic in November 2009; the Recommendations of Port of Spain on Police Management, adopted at the Third Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas, held in Trinidad and Tobago in November 2011; and the Recommendations of Medellín for Strengthening International Cooperation in the Area of Public Security, adopted in Medellín, Colombia, at the Fourth Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas, held from November 20-21, 2013;

RECALLING ALSO the Document of Port of Spain: Institutionalization of the MISPA Process, which document was adopted at the Third Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas, held in Trinidad and Tobago in November 2011, to govern the process of Meetings of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas;

MINDFUL that in resolution AG/RES. 2866 (XLIV-O/14), adopted at the forty-fourth regular session, the General Assembly decided to convene the Second Meeting of the Subsidiary Technical Working Group on Police Management and the Fifth Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas (MISPA-V); and

RECALLING that the aforesaid resolution instructed the Permanent Council to establish, through the Committee on Hemispheric Security, a working group chaired by Peru, to coordinate all the preparations for MISPA-V,

RESOLVES:

1. To set November 19-20, 2015 as the dates of the Fifth Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas, to be held in Arequipa, Peru.

2. To establish, through the Committee on Hemispheric Security, a working group chaired by Peru, to coordinate all the preparations for MISPA-V.

3. To set April 23 and 24, 2015 as the dates of the Second Meeting of the Subsidiary Technical Working Group on Police Management, to be held in Trujillo, Peru.

4. To request the General Secretariat to render such technical and administrative support as may be necessary to prepare for both meetings and to make appropriate arrangements for them to be held, subject to the availability of resources allocated in the program-budget of the Organization and other resources for 2015.
