The promotion of productive employment remains a permanent priority for Heads of State.
These leaders recognize that improving employment opportunities will ensure the further participation of diverse sectors of society in a country'seconomic life.
The III Summit of the Americas upheld the belief that true and lasting prosperity is achieved through the guarantee and protection of the basic rights of workers and through the development of opportunities for gainful employment.
The Inter-American Conference of Labor Ministers has pressed for a hemispheric-wide dialogue with the finality of identifying opportunities for horizontal cooperation
that will further increase compliance with the mandates regarding employment and labor outlined at the Quebec Summit.
