EXECUTIVE ORDER No. 76- 3
SUBJECT: ADDITION TO RULE 110.4 OF THE STAFF RULES

 

WHEREAS:

The General Assembly, at its Sixth Regular Session, adopted a resolution by which it decided to add a new paragraph to Article 51 of the General Standards, regarding the powers of the Secretary General to terminate the appointment of a staff member,

IT IS ORDERED:

That the following paragraph (f) be added to Rule 110.4 of the Staff Rules:

Rule 110.4 - Termination of services

The Secretary General may terminate the services of a staff member

(f) When, in consultation with the Assistant Secretary General, the Executive Secretaries, the Assistant Secretaries, and the staff member's immediate supervisor, the Secretary General considers it in the best interest of the Organization. In this case, the staff member concerned shall have the right to be heard by the Secretary General and shall be entitled to all the benefits and indemnities to which he would be entitled had his services been terminated for any of the other reasons specified in this article.

This Executive Order shall be appended to the Staff Rules that entered into effect on January 1, 1975.

Until the corresponding pages have been reprinted and distributed, the above changes should be incorporated in ink into the text now in effect.

This Order shall enter into effect today.
