LIVE TRANSMISSION: MEETING BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL AND PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANIZATIONS WITH OAS ANTICORRUPTION MECHANISM ON THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN PREVENTING AND COMBATING CORRUPTION

On Thursday, September 11, between 2:00 and 5:30 pm (EST), a live transmission will be held, via Webcast, of the meeting between the members of the Committee of Experts of the MESICIC (Mechanism for Follow-up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption), and international and private sector organizations, to discuss developments with respect to the topic of the “Responsibility of the Private Sector in Preventing and Combating Corruption.” This meeting is taking place, within the XXIV Plenary of the Committee, in accordance with the Methodology adopted for the consideration of this topic of collective interest.

Among the participating organizations are the Center for Responsible Enterprise and Trade, the Fairfax Group, and the International Bar Association.

The MESICIC is an intergovernmental mechanism, which in its rules allows for broad participation of non-governmental and civil society organizations.

The Mechanism For Follow-up on the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption, known as MESICIC for its Spanish acronym, is a tool to support the development of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption through cooperation between States Parties.
