Restorative practices in reducing school violence:

Violence in the school environment remains an ongoing challenge in educational institutions globally. Restorative practices (RP) have been implemented in educational settings to reduce school violence and improve emotional wellbeing and group cohesion. This systematic review examines their effectiveness in the school context. Findings indicate that RP reduces violence, improves emotional wellbeing, and promotes socio-emotional skills.

While there are still many gaps in the data collected on children’s exposure to bullying and on the effectiveness of programmes designed to address it, there is a considerable wealth of information and research that could be shared more widely with all stakeholders. This publication is a contribution to such knowledge-sharing.
