Los temas a discusión en este portal ya han sido analizados por múltiples actores. En este repositorio la SG/OEA reúne algunos de ellos, como una contribución más a la discusión. Este repositorio tiene dos secciones: En la de Políticas integraremos información sobre políticas relevantes a los temas a debate que estén siendo implementadas por los Estados Miembros, Estados Observadores y otros Estados del mundo. En la de Estudios incluiremos análisis, informes y reportes publicados por instituciones académicas, centros de pensamiento, organizaciones internacionales y multilaterales, organizaciones no gubernamentales y entes privados, todos ellos de reconocido prestigio, que sean relevantes para la conversación. La OEA publicará estos artículos e informes en su idioma original.

Keep health workers safe to keep patients safe: WHO

“The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded all of us of the vital role health workers play to relieve suffering and save lives,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. “No country, hospital or clinic can keep its patients safe unless it keeps its health workers safe. WHO’s Health Worker Safety Charter is a step towards ensuring that health workers have the safe working conditions, the training, the pay and the respect they deserve.”

CDB - Critical Personal Protective Equipment Procured for Caribbean Frontline Medical Workers

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) took delivery of the majority of US$3 million worth of PPE at the Port of Bridgetown. CDB procured and purchased the equipment with concessional resources through the Bank’s Special Development Fund.

Esta colaboración dará apoyo principalmente para que estos países puedan tener mayor acceso a Equipos de Protección Personal (EPP) para el personal médico y a otros suministros críticos para salvar vidas y limitar la transmisión de persona a persona de la enfermedad de COVID-19, centrándose en las poblaciones que sufren marginación o vulnerabilidad, así como también los trabajadores de la salud.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Situation Report on the COVID-19 Pandemic

It was reported that the number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as at the time of the situation report, is seventeen (17) persons. Nine (9) persons have so far recovered, while there are eight active cases. To date there have been no COVID-19 related deaths.

Italy - Italy's ISS and NATO to Develop Rapid Diagnostic Tests for COVID-19

NATO and Italy’s National Institute for Health (ISS) are launching a practical scientific project to develop new tools for a rapid and accurate diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This multi-year project is launched within the framework of NATO’s Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, and is led by scientists on the frontline of COVID-19 research from Italy’s Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Health Institute) and Tor Vergata University Hospital together with the University Hospital of Basel University in Switzerland. This 24-month initiative aims to enhance the speed and efficiency of COVID-19 diagnosis through a multidisciplinary approach, by bringing together experts in the field of immunology, virology and molecular biology.
