Los temas a discusión en este portal ya han sido analizados por múltiples actores. En este repositorio la SG/OEA reúne algunos de ellos, como una contribución más a la discusión. Este repositorio tiene dos secciones: En la de Políticas integraremos información sobre políticas relevantes a los temas a debate que estén siendo implementadas por los Estados Miembros, Estados Observadores y otros Estados del mundo. En la de Estudios incluiremos análisis, informes y reportes publicados por instituciones académicas, centros de pensamiento, organizaciones internacionales y multilaterales, organizaciones no gubernamentales y entes privados, todos ellos de reconocido prestigio, que sean relevantes para la conversación. La OEA publicará estos artículos e informes en su idioma original.

The pandemic has hit Saint Vincent and the Grenadines hard. Tourism receipts have dried up, as tourism arrivals have come to a complete halt. The economy is now projected to contract by 5.5 percent —7.8 percentage points below pre-COVID-19 projections. A drop in fiscal revenues, combined with additional direct health and social expenditures, will increase the fiscal deficit and financing needs. IMF support will help cover some of these needs and allow the government to ease the impact on the population.

Portugal: Study to Monitor the Evolution of the Portuguese Population’s Immunity Took Off

The National Serological Survey is a study promoted by the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA). This study aims at "monitoring the evolution of immunity against the new Coronavirus in the Portuguese population", as explained by the State Secretary for Health, António Sales.

All blood tests for antibody determination and data analysis will be carried out by INSA, through its Department of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases.

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is issuing this Notice as part of FinCEN’s COVID-19-related response.  This Notice contains pertinent information regarding reporting COVID-19-related criminal and suspicious activity and reminds financial institutions of certain Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) obligations.  FinCEN intends to issue multiple COVID-19-related advisories.  Each advisory will refer financial institutions to this Notice.

Starting 15 May 2020, services at places of worship will be allowed to resume. In addition, funeral services will be able to take place without limits to the number of family members or friends in attendance. Restaurants will be able to open, but will be limited to a maximum of four people per table (or parents with their children). Museums, libraries, archives, as well as sports centers, sport venues and fitness centers will be allowed to reopen. Fitness and sport classes such as yoga or spinning are therefore also limited to five people including the instructor.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Situation Report on the COVID-19 Pandemic

It was reported that the number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as at the time of the situation report, is seventeen (17) persons. Nine (9) persons have so far recovered, while there are eight active cases. To date there have been no COVID-19 related deaths.

Italy - Italy Promotes #FoodCoalition

Food security and nutrition have always been key priorities of Italian foreign policy. Italy has always played an important role in this sector, something testified by many UN agencies in Rome – FAO, IFAD and WFP.   Covid-19 requires us to rethink everything about food security and nutrition – universal goals – since they are at risk. Furthermore, Italy just recently propitiated the creation of the #FoodCoalition, a multilateral and multi-sector mechanism capable of creating a network of international solidarity to respond to the critical issues caused by the pandemic in the food sector.

Italy - Italy's ISS and NATO to Develop Rapid Diagnostic Tests for COVID-19

NATO and Italy’s National Institute for Health (ISS) are launching a practical scientific project to develop new tools for a rapid and accurate diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This multi-year project is launched within the framework of NATO’s Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, and is led by scientists on the frontline of COVID-19 research from Italy’s Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Health Institute) and Tor Vergata University Hospital together with the University Hospital of Basel University in Switzerland. This 24-month initiative aims to enhance the speed and efficiency of COVID-19 diagnosis through a multidisciplinary approach, by bringing together experts in the field of immunology, virology and molecular biology.
