Los temas a discusión en este portal ya han sido analizados por múltiples actores. En este repositorio la SG/OEA reúne algunos de ellos, como una contribución más a la discusión. Este repositorio tiene dos secciones: En la de Políticas integraremos información sobre políticas relevantes a los temas a debate que estén siendo implementadas por los Estados Miembros, Estados Observadores y otros Estados del mundo. En la de Estudios incluiremos análisis, informes y reportes publicados por instituciones académicas, centros de pensamiento, organizaciones internacionales y multilaterales, organizaciones no gubernamentales y entes privados, todos ellos de reconocido prestigio, que sean relevantes para la conversación. La OEA publicará estos artículos e informes en su idioma original.

New Study Reveals Oxford Coronavirus Vaccine Produces Strong Immune Response

A team of scientists at Oxford University’s Jenner Institute and Oxford Vaccine Group has taken the next step towards the discovery of a safe, effective and accessible vaccine against coronavirus. The results of the Phase I/II trial published today in the scientific journal, The Lancet, indicate no early safety concerns and induces strong immune responses in both parts of the immune system.

Global Partners Require $31 Billion to Speed up COVID-19 Medicines for All

More than $31 billion is needed over the next 12 months to develop medicines that will be effective against COVID-19, and make them available to all people, the World Health Organization (WHO) and partners said.

Italy - Italy Promotes #FoodCoalition

Food security and nutrition have always been key priorities of Italian foreign policy. Italy has always played an important role in this sector, something testified by many UN agencies in Rome – FAO, IFAD and WFP.   Covid-19 requires us to rethink everything about food security and nutrition – universal goals – since they are at risk. Furthermore, Italy just recently propitiated the creation of the #FoodCoalition, a multilateral and multi-sector mechanism capable of creating a network of international solidarity to respond to the critical issues caused by the pandemic in the food sector. 

Italy - Italy's ISS and NATO to Develop Rapid Diagnostic Tests for COVID-19

NATO and Italy’s National Institute for Health (ISS) are launching a practical scientific project to develop new tools for a rapid and accurate diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection. This multi-year project is launched within the framework of NATO’s Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, and is led by scientists on the frontline of COVID-19 research from Italy’s Istituto Superiore di Sanità (National Health Institute) and Tor Vergata University Hospital together with the University Hospital of Basel University in Switzerland. This 24-month initiative aims to enhance the speed and efficiency of COVID-19 diagnosis through a multidisciplinary approach, by bringing together experts in the field of immunology, virology and molecular biology.
