The Universal Curriculum for National Drug Strategies in the Americas (UC-NDSA) aims to empower professionals responsible for designing and implementing national drug policies, strategies, and action plans, by addressing the need for knowledge and skills in drafting each component of the policy. The curriculum facilitates the policymaking process from drafting to approval.

The UC-NDSA is composed of seven thematic modules that outline the logical process of policy development in drugs.

Objectives

Establishment and/or strengthening of the institutional capacity of the national drug authorities, providing them with the necessary capabilities, resources, and competencies to coordinate the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of national drug policies.

Activities

Development of training content on the formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, budget planning, and approval of national policies, strategies, and plans on drugs.
Development of support materials to ensure that accurate information is used in the different parts of the policy.
Organization of face-to-face and virtual training sessions for delivery of the Universal Curriculum for National Drug Strategies in the Americas (UC-NDSA).
