The International Network for Legislation on Drugs (INLOD) is an initiative of the U.S.-led Global Coalition to Address Synthetic Drug Threats. INLOD serves as a knowledge exchange platform for legislators and drug policymakers to collaborate and share best practices on drug-related legislative bills and actions.

The Latin American and Caribbean Component of INLOD (INLOD-LAC) is managed by the Executive Secretariat of CICAD/OAS, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Support Unit of the OAS Secretariat for Strengthening Democracy. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime manages INLOD in regions other than the Americas.

Objectives
  • Share best practices on drug-related legislation, promoting horizontal cooperation and generating valuable tools through virtual and in-person technical groups, as well as regional, and international fora.
Activities
  • Strengthen international cooperation and coordination among policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish a global parliamentary network.
  • Conduct legislative mapping on drug-related issues.
  • Provide training and technical assistance.
  • Identify and address legislative gaps in key thematic areas.
  • Disseminate best practices, knowledge, and expertise in synthetic drug policy.
