The Inter-American System on Drug Supply Data (SIDAC, by its Spanish acronym) was created in 2020 based on the recommendations of a technical working group on drug supply indicators. The working group reached a consensus to initiate a data collection effort targeting drug supply which led to the first CICAD drug supply report being published in November 2022.

To maintain an up-to-date database on drug supply indicators, the OID uses SIDAC to continuously collect and analyze data on drug seizures, cultivation, production, drug-related arrests, drug markets and other supply-side issues.
