The Office of the OAS General Secretariat in The Bahamas was established in 1984. In 2018, Phyllis Baron was appointed as resident Representative.

The OAS Bahamas Office serves as the crucial link between the Member State and the OAS, and actively promotes the organization's core principles and ideals, ensuring maximum visibility through strategic public diplomacy engagements.  

Over these 40 years the OAS has impacted The Bahamas through the implementation of programs and projects under the main pillars of democracy, human rights, security, and development. 

This Office works under the Coordinating Office for the Offices of the General Secretariat in the Member States.
