This virtual event is part of the dissemination of the most recent publication of the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM/OAS) and the Follow-up Mechanism of the Belém do Pará Convention (MESECVI): “Violence against women and the measures to contain the spread of COVID-19”. This document is the result of a series of meetings with civil society, Women's Ministers and high authorities in the area of violence against women, experts from MESECVI; from the analysis of hundreds of complaints that have circulated in the media; and alerts from public and private organizations about the increase in violence against women during the pandemic.
