The OAS General Secretariat, the Rotary clubs of Washington and Rotary International have organized the Webinar "Migrants and Refugees in the Americas in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Challenges and Multisectoral Solutions", which will take place next Tuesday, June 23, at 10:30 am Washington DC time

Secretary General Almagro and Secretary General of Rotary International will offer the opening remarks. There will be the participation of high level authorities from the Governments of El Salvador and Colombia.

This virtual conference will focus on the worst humanitarian crisis in the western hemisphere, the Venezuelan migration crisis with more than 5 million migrants and refugees, as well as the forced displacement of one million Central Americans who also face extreme conditions in their migration journey.

The purpose of the event is to address these challenges and, even more importantly, to jointly think of multi-sectoral proposals and solutions that can incorporate governments, civil society, and the private sector. The panel of the event has the participation of the private sector, experts from the OAS General Secretariat and Rotary Clubs.

Audience
The Webinar will have an audience from the region (governments of member states, the private sector, NGOs, CEAL and Rotarians) and from Observer countries to the OAS in Europe and Asia.
